aLex vs aLex is the new project of Guatemala-born artist aka Sofia Insua, who currently splits her time between NYC and Berlin.
aLex vs aLex is Insua’s way of carving a unique path apart from her other ongoing music projects, Easy Easy (2017–present) and ERA C (2020–present), where she serves as lead vocalist and composer—each reflecting different facets of her artistic identity. Although the project’s debut single release was in early 2024, Insua has been featured in Billboard and Remezcla, played three sold out shows as aLex vs aLex supporting Chet Faker’s first “Built on Glass” Anniversary Tour concert, and played two back to back sold-out Ralphie Choo shows in NYC.
Insua’s work is in constant search of the connections between emotional portrayal, physicality and sound. aLex vs aLex is the result of various artistic visions; a bleed through of styles and skill sets acquired from Insua’s parallel endeavors. A strong visual identity plays a huge role in establishing aLex vs. aLex’s potential, as the emerging act redefines the possibilities of Latin Music, and the Central American Region – putting Guatemala on the map. It’s debut single’s music video “see me 4 the first time” was a Berlin Music Video Award winner 2024
