Born and raised in Sacramento, California, Tydell’s musical roots trace back to his childhood, playing drums and singing background vocals in local bands and at church. Right after high school, he hit the road, touring with various bands and absorbing a wide range of musical styles. His journey has taken him through Nashville, Atlanta, and Portland before landing in Los Angeles in 2018, where he began writing, recording, and performing as his own bandleader.

Tydell’s sound is a rich blend of influences, marrying the dreamy, atmospheric vibes of Toro y Moi and Tame Impala with the soul-drenched sensibilities of Blood Orange and Anderson .Paak. His music feels like watching a California sunset—nostalgic yet forward-thinking, introspective but expansive. He finds inspiration in old soul records, imagining himself as a crooner in a dimly lit club, and from genre-bending modern artists like Remi Wolf and Mac Miller, whose playful energy informs his uplifting sound.

Currently, Tydell is working on a full-length album and several EPs, exploring different genres and themes. His upcoming music dives into hope, resilience, and the pursuit of a better future—both personally and globally
